Today, we are seeing an exponential increase in our reliance on social media as a means of interaction. For this 48-hour intensive project we created a fictional infomercial for a future product to be marketed to consumers who feel more at home in their online social network. This commentary is intended not to criticize or condemn the social media trend, but to envision a hyperbolic future that illustrates the ramifications of our increasingly digital personas.
My Roles: Videographer / Production Designer / Screenwriter / Speculative Designer
The Problem: We were challenged to design a speculative product for people’s evolving emotional health needs in an increasingly digitalized social ecosystem.
The Results: As the first project I created in graduate school, MiFace helped me realize how much I was interested in storytelling, videography, and satirical social criticism.
