Go Fiji Go is a web platform designed for the International Center for Advocates Against Discrimination (ICAAD) to facilitate their entry into the issue space of sexual and gender-based violence in Fiji and the Pacific Islands. The platform focuses on resource-sharing and crowd funding, to strengthen the existing efforts of local nonprofits and grassroots activist working to address violence against women in Fiji, while expanding ICAAD's professional network and encouraging collaboration.
My Roles: Project Manager / Design Researcher / Social Innovation Strategist / User-Experience Designer / Service Designer
The Problem: ICAAD was looking to begin work addressing sexual and gender-based violence in Fiji and the Pacific Islands. While there is an existing community of local women’s rights activists, they are wary to trust international nonprofits and often see them as competition for the already limited funding options. Our project was designed to help ICAAD enter as an ally rather than a competitor to help cultivate and empower a community of women’s right activists in Fiji and the Pacific Islands.
The Results: The Go Fiji Go platform is currently being developed, with an increased focus on online workshops and e-learning opportunities for paralegals willing to work of sexual and gender based violence cases.
